My everyday makeup

Hi everyone!

This week I had been quite busy and hadn't had the time to think of a good blog post idea (uh-oh! haven't done my homework!) so I thought I would give you a quick review of the products I use on an every day basis.
  • Rimmel Match Perfection foundation
This is a lovely foundation to use on an every day basis. It has nice coverage and stays on a decent amount of time. + It's cheap! Full review on my blog here
  • NYX Concealer in a jar
I love this concealer. It's creamy, has a nice coverage and blends nicely. I even use it under my eyes and it works very well. I usually apply it with my finger but I think it'll be even better to use it with a brush. The only minus side of this concealer is its strong, granny-ish scent. Nothing too overwhelming though. But it is a bit disturbing. Do pick this up if you're looking for a cheap concealer on NYX UK webpage here.
  • Rimmel 'Stay Matte' pressed powder
Now, I know that many bloggers have raved about this powder but I just have to do it, too. It is amazing. Probably the best pressed powder I've ever used. It leaves your skin matte and natural-looking. The thing I love the most about this powder is that it's incredibly light. I have had quite a few powders that you could feel on your skin throughout the day but you definitely can't feel this one. Again, it is amazing. Available at Boots here.
  • Depend eyebrow wax pencil
This is just a regular wax pencil to keep your eyebrows in shape throughout the day. I can't say it's amazing because it doesn't last for the whole day. So if you're looking for a good eyebrow product, I think you should purchase either a clear mascara or a product made specifically for eyebrows. When I use this pen up, I will purchase the Mac eyebrow set.
  • Rimmel eyebrow pencil
This is another Rimmel product that I absolutely love. The tone 'Hazel' is perfect for blonde hair. I just fill in my brows with this pencil after putting the wax on them and they're done! Available at Boots here.
  • Dermosil Devoted 3in1 mascara in Black
Unfortunately, this brand is only available in Finland, Sweden and Estonia but I absolutely love this mascara. It's a bit wet at the beginning but as it dries, it is amazing! It gives the lashes length but still makes them look natural. This is one of the best lengthening mascaras I've ever tried and I looove it!
  • Rimmel eyeshadow in Champagne coral
I've had this eyeshadow for absolutely ages but I swipe it on my lides almost every day to brighten up the eyes. And I love it. Unfortunately, this kind of packaging isn't available anymore but I did find a very similar one from Boots. You can find it at Boots here, the colour is called 'Smokey Quartz'

I do use blusher and bronzer sometimes, but not every day so I decided not to include them in this blog post.
Please let me know in the comments what products do you use every day and if you use some of the products I listed in this post. I'd also love to try out new products!

Take care!

'No shame' banana- oatmeal cookies recipe

Hi everyone!

Today I want to share a recipe with you all! I actually got this recipe from Jim Chapman on YouTube where he talked about how he needed to gain weight but didn't want to eat crap for this. So he made these banana-oatmeal cookies and I really wanted to try them out. I didn't include chocolate chips but if you do, you will get sweeter cookies. These cookies are perfect for a light and healthy evening snack. Now seriously, these are the best tummy fillers ever. You eat 2 of them and you're full. But that's good, right?!

Ingredients:
  • 3 bananas
  • 2 eggs (Jim used only egg whites but I put the whole egg into the dough)
  • 3/4 cup of milk
  • 1,5 cups of whole grain flour
  • 2,5 cups of oatmeal
  • Optional: 1 cup of dark chocolate chips
  • Optional: protein powder
PS! I fried my oatmeal on the pan before putting it into my dough. The cookies will end up more crunchy if you do this.

Directions:
First things first. Mash up your bananas, either with a fork, blender or whatever works the best for you. After mashing the bananas, you will end up with a runny mixture that looks like a smoothie. Make sure you will get all the clumps out!
Then add your two eggs to the mixture and stir until the two ingredients are well mixed. Now, add your milk and mix again. Then, add the flour and oatmeal and mix until a fine dough is formed.  Now, after doing all this, my dough was a little runny, it might have been because of the egg yolks. So I added some more flour and oatmeal until I had a thick dough.
Preheat oven to 200 degrees celsius.
Then, lay a baking paper onto the tray and start putting handfuls of the dough onto the tray until you're finished.
Bake the cookies for approximately 20-25 minutes or until they're nice and golden-brown.

Voila! Have a glass of milk with a couple of these bad boys :)

Have a lovely weekend!

Review: Rimmel Match Perfection foundation

Hi everyone!

I've never been much of a 'foundation girl', I've always liked the tinted moisturisers or BB cremes better than a foundation. I did have some foundations before but I never really used them. However, at the end of last year, I felt an urge to start using a foundation on an every day basis: a decent foundation with spf and a nice coverage, and one that would stay on the whole day. So I decided to purchase the Rimmel Match Perfection foundation.

What caught my eye the first was its spf factor which is 18. I like the idea of a long lasting foundation (it promises to last all day long which it doesn't- I wear it for about 10-12 hours which is, in my opinion, the maximum time for it to stay on your face without getting cakey) which also has spf in it. And it also is quite a bargain for a good quality product: can be purchased for £6.99 in Boots here
I really like this foundation because it gives me a nice, medium coverage and is quite easy to apply. It leaves the skin looking very natural and glowy. It has a nice scent, it's not overwhelmingly strong or anything like that.
The 'Match Perfection' line also has a concealer, primer, powder, blusher and a bronzer which I do want to try out too. Right now I'm setting my foundation with Rimmel's Stay Matte powder which works very well.

Overall, I would give this foundation 8 points out of 10. If you're looking for a cheap foundation that works well, you should consider trying this out.

Question: Would you like to see an every day face routine post? Leave a comment down below :)

Have a lovely weekend!

Beauty wishlist for 2013

Hi everyone!

There are so many things in this beauty world that I really want to try out and I decided that by this year, I'd purchase the ones that I want the most.

1. Clarisonic Mia

I'm sure you have all heard about this miracle brush which is developed for acne prone skin. Many bloggers have raved about it so much and how big of a savior this brush is to them. I have acne prone skin myself so I think this would be a very nice product for me. The price, however, is quite crisp- 120£. Also it is not available in my country, so I'll have to pick it up when I'm going abroad as ordering it from Ebay would add quite a bit of a postage to the price. Sigh... this little buddy needs to be mine!
2. Bioderma
This cleansing water has been talked about loads and loads throughout the last year. Again- everyone loves it. I will purchase this in the nearest future because I've been dying to try this out for so long! I simply need it.
3. Mac's mineralize skin finish
These products are absolutely gorgeous. There is quite a big variety of the colours and tones out there so I'm not sure which one I'll be purchasing yet but I really want to try one out!
4. First aid beauty 'Ultra repair cream'

I first heard of this product in the summer and I FORGOT to get this when I was in the UK... This product can be used everywhere on the body but I would mostly use it on my hands as they tend to get very very dry.  It's cheap and as people say, a holy grail product! Next time, Laura, don't forget to pick it up!!

So that is everything I want to get my hands on the most this year and I hope I will. What products do you want to try out this year? Leave a comment down below.

Take care,
Laura

Happy New Year!

Hi everyone and happy New Year!

As 2013 is now officially here, I cannot not mention how fast 2012 went by. For me, last year contained quite a bit of travelling to places I'd wanted to go for ages, hard studying and, *sigh*, also some negative things. But 2012 is now the past and I am so excited for the things to happen this year.

Found these pictures on WeHeartIt as it was too rainy to take pictures outside at midnight- typical!!

New Year's resolutions
Now, I think everyone makes at least one resolution for the upcoming year and so do I. I don't necessarily create a resolution but just  kind of  a 'bucketlist' of things I'd like to achieve/ do this year. I will share some of the most important things I've written down for 2013 with you all.
  1. To drink more water. This may sound like a boring one but I never drink much water which isn't good for either skin, nails or hair. So this year I want to drink at least 3 glasses of water a day. I know it's a small amount and it would be good to drink up to 3 liters a day but if I can get myself to drink at least 3 glasses, I will be proud of myself.
  2. To read more books. I love reading but I always seem to be lacking of time to read. There is so many good books out there I've been dying to read and I thought it would be nice to find some time and read more.
  3. To spend less time on the internet. If you knew me really well, you'd know that I spend most of my day on the computer. Of course not when I'm at school or busy doing something else, but when I find some spare time, it's the first thing I'll do. Obviously this is not good. And sometimes I don't even have something in particular to read or browse on here so I just go to Youtube, watch a video and start clicking on 'related videos' and after 2 hours I find myself watching a video that makes no sense to me. And if I spend less time on the internet, I will have more time to read. 2 in 1!
  4. To be more positive. I know Fleur (FleurDeForce here on blogger world) mentioned it as well but this year I want to be more positive. When I'm generally a quite happy person, I still lack of positivity on an every day basis. I think I'd be a lot happier if I didn't look at certain things so negatively.
I had more things on my list but these four were the ones I'm looking forward to the most. I hope I'll manage to accomplish all of them, otherwise I will be disappointed at the end of the year.

Also, I would love it if you guys would give me some kind of a feedback of the content of my blog. Is it good or boring? Tell me at the comments below. You can also give me ideas of what I should make a blog post of in the future.
What were your New Year's resolutions?
Take care,
Laura xx
