The winter hair rescue

Hi everyone!

Lately my hair has been feeling super frizzy and dry, as it does pretty much every winter. It happens to everyone, doesn't it? The feeling when you brush your hair and you get super frizzy hair? Yikes.

My carry-on beauty essentials

Hi everyone!
This post goes out to all of you travellers out there. And people who just like reading this kind of posts. I definitely do.
As I'm leaving for China (I'm buzzing like a bunny right now) tomorrow, I thought, what better timing to make a short post about the beauty products I'm taking on the plane with me.
Now, the flight to China isn't very long; it's 6 hours. But as I have a connecting flight in Helsinki, my travel day will be about 10 hours long. My skin has been behaving very well recently so I will be trying to take as good care of it as I possibly can.
So, on to the products.

Review: Kiehl's Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque

Hello everyone!

A couple of weeks, or even a month ago I was in search of a deep cleansing face mask. I usually like masks that are clay-based because I really feel like they cleanse my skin the best. I like trying out new products, however if I find a product that works really well, I stick to it rather than test out products that might not work for me.

So, as I was searching for the masque, I stumbled across the Kiehl's beauty isle and went to see if they have anything that could work for me. The lady was very kind and told me about their face masks. She said that the Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque is the best for my skin type. I wanted to try it out first before buying the whole jar and went home with a tester of this product. I used it and fell in love. The very next day I went back and bought the full size jar.

Autumn is the perfect season for thrift shopping!

Hello everyone!

(I could put a video of Macklemore's 'Thrift shop' here but I don't think it's necessary)

The last items I got from a thrift shop: a button up shirt and a dress in an autumnal tartan pattern! For 1€ in total!

My thoughts on the Real Techniques Expert face brush

Hello everyone!

Although I am quite late on this particular bandwagon, a few weeks back I decided to purchase the Real Techniques expert face brush that soooo many people have been raving about.

July favourites!

Hi everyone!

It's been a while since my last 'favourites' post so I decided it would be time to make a new one. And I made it in the form of a video. I'm so excited!
Please note that my accent is not the best!

I would be happy to receive any feedback from you in terms of how the video turned out!

Happy August!

New blog layout and my Youtube channel!

Hi everyone!

As you may have already seen, my blog went from a soft blue colour to baby pink. It looks more put together now I think and I'm quite happy how it turned out for now. I still have some things to change though.

Also, I just wanted to let you guys know that I now have a Youtube channel. I have no videos on there at the moment because my channel is still in baby shoes but I really wanted to start making videos every once in a while.
I would really appreciate it if you could subscribe to me because I will start making videos very soon. (Even though my accent is probably terrible- haha!)

That's all I wanted to say- just a little update post :)

Products I've used up #2: summer empties!

Hi everyone!

It has been a while since I last posted a "Products I've used up" post. To be honest, I have used up quite a few products but they always seem to find themselves unhappily in the bin before I realise that I have a special bag for the empties.

  • Rexona activshower with fresh ginkgo & lemon grass
I had had this shower gel just hanging around for ages so I finally decided to try it. Because of its slightly masculine but very fresh scent I really enjoyed using this for my morning showers or post workout showers.
  • Bioderma purifying and foaming cleansing gel
I have a whole post about this product if you're curious: click me!
  • Himalaya herbals neem foaming face wash
This was my second bottle of this product. It is perfect for a gentle morning cleanse because it really refreshes and cleanses the skin. It has a very fresh scent too which is also suitable for those early mornings. I don't know about the availability of this product in the UK but it's definitely worth checking out!
  • Dermosil for faces cleansin mousse for normal-dry skin
This is a product similar to the previous one but I did not enjoy it that much. It has a very perfumey scent which I absolutely hated. Nonetheless, I went through the whole bottle of this because it did a good job cleansing the skin. I would not repurchase this product!
  • Oriflame Pure Skin scrub face wash
When I found this face wash, I was quite surprised because it had been just hanging around in my bathroom, just like the shower gel and I decided to give it a go. Now this contains salicylic acid which is obviously good for any blemishes. The face wash left my skin feeling super clean and refreshed. The scrubby particles are very gentle on the skin and get rid of any dead skin cells. I would definitely repurchase this product again!
  • Dermosil 3-in1 mascara in black
This mascara is just the bomb dot com. I absolutely loved it! It's a very natural looking mascara that doesn't clump or smudge throughout the day which is great. I wore this pretty much every day and it did not let me down once. Unfortunately I don't think it's available anymore which is a shame because it truly was an awesome mascara!
  • Lush's 'Herbalism' face cleanser
This was my first pot of this and I have already purchased a new one. I usually use it after I've taken off my makeup and cleansed my face with a cleanser. This just helps to make blemishes go away faster and it feels soooo good on the skin! Basically it's just a cleanser made out of herbs and natural oils. It rocks.
  • Lush's grease lightning
Yes, another product from Lush for blemishes. I just find that natural products help the most when it comes to blemishes. This is just a blemish gel that you can either put all over your face (which I do) or on a specific spot. It smells ah-may-zing! I've also repurchased a new bottle of this and I just love this stuff

So as you can see, I have used up many facial cleansers! Haha.
Also, if you happened to find yourself thinking "Oh I wanna know more about the Dermosil brand.." then they have a webpage and you can also purchase products from there. They only ship to Europe though.

I'm planning to do a post about my July favourites at the end of this month and I thought I would do it in a video form. What do you guys think of that? Yay or nay? Please let me know in the comments below!

Until next post,
enjoy your summer everyone!

30 day snap day #30

Hi everyone!
I cannot believe that this month has become to an end and that tomorrow is July. The month of June will stay in my memories because so much was happening this month.
When talking about the actual 30 day snap challenge, I can say that I ended up with quite a decent amount of pictures. I did skip a couple of days but I am still pretty pleased with myself. I also got many replies back from you and it made me really happy :)

Right now I'm visiting my nan in a town called Haapsalu. Today I decided to go for a  bike ride and  captured this very historical building. I just love this town!

Did you participate in the challenge?

30 day snap day #28

Hi everyone!

Today and yesterday were surprisingly cold after the one day of tropical climate. There hasn't been much going on. I've been riding around town with my bicycle, learning how to drive a car, reading quite a lot and just relaxing and enjoying the freedom.

Anyway, today I'd like to share a snap with you that I took from my bedroom window just as I was watching a film from telly (It was 'Letters from Juliet'- such an amazing film!). As it had just been raining a little and the sun had still not gone completely down, there was a bright piece of rainbow that I just had to capture.

How has your day been?

30 day snap day #26

Hi everyone!
Today was SUCH a hot day. It was about 30-35 degrees (celcius) outside and I just about died. With such a heat, all I wanted to do was to eat ice cream all day. I went swimming in the sea quite a few times which was very refreshing.
Tomorrow promises to be as hot as today. Oh god!

33 degrees!!!

30 day snap day #24

Hi everyone!

Today has been quite a lazy day. The weather was cloudy but very hot which made me want to sleep all day long.

Also, I just finished watching a film called "Soul Surfer" which is a true story based film that tells the story of a girl called Bethany Hamilton who lost her arm during a shark attack when surfing. She now is a professional surfer. This film takes the viewer through the difficulties of her journey. It is such an inspiring film and I highly recommend to watch it on a nice summer evening. I definitely got loads of motivation from this film!

What have you been up today?
Have you seen "Soul Surfer"?

30 day snap day #23

Hi everyone!
Today is a holiday in Estonia called the Midsummer's Eve. It is often celebrated in Scandinavia too. The night between the 23rd and 24th of June is the lightest night in the year; it basically does not go dark outside the whole night. Traditionally people have a nice barbeque on this evening/night, spend some time with their friends and family and chat outside. (And get VERY drunk!)

Yummmmm!

30 day snap day #22

Hi everyone!
Today was my big run. It is called 'The tough guy run' and it's basically a 10 km run full of obstacles to conquer for example crawling in mud, climbing over things and other fun stuff like that.
It was quite hard but my main goal was to complete the run which I did. I'm quite happy with myself and even though it's not an usual run, I think I will participate again next year! These kind of challenges really add spice to life!

Yes, that is indeed me swimming in not a very clear little pond which was one of the obstacles

Have you ever taken part of runs/races like this one? Tell me in the comments!

30 day snap day #19

Hi everyone!
I can't believe we're halfway through June already.. I can't imagine going to school in 2 months!
Yesterday was the 'big' graduation. It is a big blurry memory now because it all went by so quickly! And guess what.
I did not cry.
I was overwhelmed by how many people had come to congratulate me; it really was so sweet!
So I guess now I have 2 months of freedom in front of me which I know will go in no time.. I'll try to make the most of this summer!
Anyway, let's get cracking with the pictures.

I ended up not putting my hair up, I curled it instead

I don't think I've realised that I've graduated yet..
What have you been up to recently? Tell me in the comments!

30 day snap day #18

Hi everyone!
I am so giving up on this challenge.

Anyway, tomorrow is the big graduation. Even the thought of it makes me want to cry. I will be a big mess tomorrow.
I went for a rather relaxing seaside walk with my mum and I really enjoyed taking photographs of the gorgeous sunset :)

Isn't it absolutely beautiful?

Please do keep your fingers crossed for me haha.

30 day snap days #12, #13 and #14 aka graduation preparation

Hi everyone!
Yes. It's been 3 days.
I'm really sorry.
I have been preparing for my English exam which I took today (I got an A), also preparing for my graduation.
And perhaps I'm just a horrible blogger.

Anyway, during the three days I have finally figured out what makeup look I will be doing on myself and the hairstyle I will be wearing.

I needed a belt to go with my dress but I didn't find one that would match with my shoes. So I bought some ribbon with some flower detailing on it and it matched perfectly! My mum is currently sewing some details on it so that I could wear the ribbon as a belt!

I don't usually ever wear my hair up but an elegant sock bun just looked so flattering with my dress! For the makeup I will be wearing a golden smokey eye.

This bun is massssive!!

Would you like me to do a post about my makeup look?
What have you been up to lately?

30 day snap day #11

Hi everyone!
Today has been so productive: I had two doctor appointments, school, I grabbed some lunch with my mum and then headed off to a department store to browse some of the beauty isles.
It might not seem like a lot of things but trust me- I've had quite a hectic day.
I also needed to write my graduation speech which I finished today.

30 day snap days 8 and 9

Hi everyone!

I went to a flea market yesterday to sell some of my old clothes. Well. It didn't go that well. I blame myself for not organising everything better. But I'll be smarter next time!
And I don't have a snap of it as well. Because I accidentally deleted all the pictures I took yesterday. :(

Today, however, I have a very appetising picture for you. In the morning we had our family friends over for breakfast. We had tons of food on the table and everyone was absolutely full after the feast. Our friends brought us two big pretzel shaped breads which we could not possibly fit in our stomachs anymore so we decided to enjoy them for tea this evening.
They are the best things I've ever eaten. Seriously.

A massive pretzel covered with lots of almonds and icing. I hope you're all drooling now :P

30 day snap day #7

Hi everyone!
Today I took an exam in Maths. And I got an A. Not gonna lie, I'm quite proud of myself. All the revision paid off!
In the evening I went out with a friend, we had a lovely time sitting in a cafe, having a nice chat. The old town of Tallinn is so multicultural, especially during the evening/ night time.

Once again, a picture of my feet. I just wanted to show you the shoes I wore out :)

30 day snap day #6

Hi everyone!
Today was a revision day. I went through the whole exam-prep book and I think I'm ready for the exam now.
I also managed to go for a little run which I, for some reason, didn't really enjoy. I think I was just nervous because of the exam, or tired.

30 day snap day #5

Hi everyone!
Today was another warm and sunny day. Me and my friend took advantage of the weather and went to the beach. It was lovely. We didn't get to be there for a long time though, because the wind suddenly turned to north and it was cold!! I'm kind of happy about that though, because just when I got home, I realised that my back was all red and a little bit burnt. Ouch.
As I will be taking an exam in Maths on Friday, I also had to revise. I still have tomorrow so I wasn't quite panicking about it, but I still need to look at some formulas and make sure I won't be doing some silly mistakes in the exams that would lower the score.

Revision!

What has your day been like? Let me know!

30 day snap day #4

Hi everyone!
Today has been a total fail. Me and my friends decided to go to the beach but as we got there, the clouds covered the sun and it started raining. After that the air got so cold we couldn't even be outside anymore. I don't know what's up with the weather recently.
I also went to see Hangover 3 which was kind of a disappointment for me. It just wasn't as good as the 2 previous movies. But oh well!

A precious rose after the rain

I would love to see your snaps!

30 day snap day #3

Hi everyone!

Today has been a weird day. It's been a big mess of studying, relaxing on the beach, nervously trying to catch a bus and being in dance class.
Sigh.

Once again, a picture of my feet. I just wanted to share the beach vibe with you.

What have you been up to today? Let me know! I would also like to see your 30 day snap pictures!

30 day snap day #2

Hi everyone!

Today was a hot day. Also a lazy one. I didn't do anything productive, I spent half of the day on a little beach and after that felt so tired that I literally slept in the sun the whole day. And read a book about Iceland. It was so nice.

(On a local beach) Air temperature- 28 degrees, water 22

Today I also had my first swim of the year. Last year I used to swim pretty much every day so I was quite excited to start my swim season again.
Also, the water was nice and cooling because of the air temperature being so high.

What were you up to today?
Are you doing the 30 day snap challenge? Let me know!

30 day snap day #1

Hi everyone!

Today is the first day of June which means that this month I will post a picture every day!

Today was "Wear a dress day". This day is not very well-known but the idea of it is to make women wear more dresses. Many women magazines all over the world have talked about this day and many people are joining the event every year.  I have been quite obsessed with skirts and dresses lately so I really wanted to participate. I chose to wear this vintage'y floral button up dress which I love.

What was your day like?
If you also post a pic every day in June, please let me know, I'd love to see your pictures!

The best DIY body scrubs

Hi everyone!

I'm a sucker for everything DIY so I was pretty darn excited when I read more about DIY body scrubs.
Not only are they cheap to make, but I like that you can actually see what you're putting on your body and not have any chemicals in your body scrub.
I've picked out 3 body scrubs that I really love, and I hope that you will love them as much as I do.

Coffee- olive oil body scrub
I stole this 'recipe' from Michelle Phan. The scrub was unlike anything I had tried before so I decided to give it a go.
For this recipe you will need ground coffee that's been in boiling water. I'm not a big coffee lover but I take the coffee grounds from my parents' coffee cups. The reason they have to be boiled, is that they are much softer after boiling, therefore softer on your skin.

You will need:
2 tbsp coffee grounds
1 tbsp olive oil

Oh my goodness, this scrub is just amazing! It makes the skin SO soft. I usually scrub my body before shaving. Believe me, I've never had a smoother shave before. The coffee gets rid of dead skin while the olive oil gives the skin a good moisture.
The reason coffee is good for your skin is that it breaks up these fatty deposits that cause cellulite. It basically stimulates the blood in blood vessels. I've actually noticed that my skin is so much tighter!
Coffee also acts as a sunscreen, it prevents sunburn and wrinkles.
I love this scrub. Seriously. Try it.

Oats- olive oil scrub
I recommend this scrub if you have more of a sensitive skin type because the exfoliating oats are very gentle on the skin. I usually use this scrub when my skin is being a bit dry, which usually happens during winter time and I don't want to be harsh with scrubbing my skin.
The oats, once again, make the skin very-very soft and the olive oil acts as a moisturiser. You can actually use the oats on your face as well, just without the olive oil. It makes the skin sooooo smooth and soft!

You will need:
2 tbsp oats
1 tbsp olive oil

Green tea face scrub
Now, even though the post is supposed to be about body scrubs, I just couldn't leave this scrub out because it is so good and yet so easy to make. I saw this recipe on bubzbeauty's channel and I instantly wanted to try it out.
This scrub only consists of green tea. That's it. You literally need to make yourself a cup of green tea, then take the tea bag and take the green tea out. Then use it as a face scrub.
This scrub is so gentle on the skin and works very well. When I first used this on one Saturday evening, then the next day I noticed that my face looked so glowy and fresh. This scrub is just amazing.
The green tea gives your skin a healthy glow, it contains many antioxidants and prevents cancer. Pretty amazing, huh!

I dare you to try out all of these 3 scrubs and tell me in the comments down below if you liked them. They are seriously amazing.

Have a very lovely week!

Where the hell have you been?!

Hi.

I am so so sorry for not uploading anything for the past month but I've been so terribly busy and haven't had the chance to try out many products.
I am currently finishing school and I'm so terribly busy, especially as it is the very last week of classes. The next three weeks: exams.
And then the big (and scary and sad) graduation.

But don't worry; I will be back soon. I've actually come up with an idea and I need your feedback whether it's a good one or not.
I want to change my blog into more of a lifestyle blog. I feel like I would have so much more things to share with you, post many pictures of my life and share a product review every now and then.

Another one of my plans is to post a picture of my life every single day in June. I stole the idea from Louise (SprinkleOfGlitter) whose post got me sooooo excited for summer.
Sounds exciting, right? There will be many pretty dresses and hairstyles and even make up as well as the beautiful summer weather combined in posts throughout the month.

So what do you think?
Please do leave a comment down below telling me your ideas and thoughts.

Have a wonderful week!!
Ps. I really do promise I will be back!

Review: Bioderma purifying and cleansing foaming gel for combination to oily skin

Hi everyone!

About a month ago I was in need of a new facial cleanser. I really wanted  to purchase a cleanser that was a bit better to your skin than the cleansers from the drugstore. So I went to a pharmacy and I stumbled across the Bioderma isle. I had a little look and saw that they had cleansers, which I thought was awesome because their cleansing water has had SO many good reviews that the cleanser just had to be nice too. So I bought it. It wasn't the cheapest (Around the £15 mark), and I wouldn't normally waste so much money on a cleanser but I just bought it simply because it was Bioderma. And people love Bioderma. It also claimed to be non-drying, soap free and hypoallergenic which is definitely a plus.

So on the bottle it says that it cleanses gently and controls oils. Doesn't clog pores.
As I've used this product over a month now, I can really say that it is a very gentle cleanser. I use it with my little Clarisonic-like manual face brush and I feel like it really makes my face squeaky clean. It definitely doesn't clog my pores or make my skin produce more oil. Also, with some cleansers I find that my skin feels a bit tight after the wash, which I definitely don't feel with this cleanser. I've also noticed that it has been keeping my skin from breaking out. It's very gentle and clarifying, AND it doesn't sting when accidentally getting into the eyes (you know how the late night cleansing can be- can't keep your eyes open and kind of just slap the cleanser onto your skin and whooops- get it into your eye!!). The cleanser has a gentle scent which I like.
However, it smells just like a Nivea Young cleanser that I used years ago so I don't know what's the case with that. I can't remember how the Nivea one worked so I can't really compare the two cleansers.

Overall, I would give this product 8 points out of 10 because I really enjoy it.
I'm not sure whether it's available in the UK or not but if you can get your hands on it, want to invest into a cleanser that is a bit more expensive, and that's from the pharmacy, this one would definitely be worth the try.

I hope the lack of posts will end soon but right now I'm just very busy with school and stuff so I hope you don't mind!
Have a lovely week, and a lovely spring!!

Toned for summer?

Hi everyone!

As summer is approaching soooo fast, I've really gotten into a regular fitness routine this spring.
As much as I'd like to be motivated every time I go to the gym, I'm not. Sometimes I just feel a bit 'meh' about working out and I enter the gym, not feeling very pumped or motivated.
What I've figured, is that following some fitness blogs (or fitblrs, as they're called on Tumblr), really helps to make me a bit more motivated and excited for gym. I love browsing through my dashboard and looking at all the lovely inspirational quotes and pictures.

My fitness regime consists of working out at the gym once a week + some smaller exercises at home every single day.
When going to the gym, I usually start with a 30-minute cardio run on the treadmill. Then I go on the bicycle. After that I usually either row or do sit-ups depending on my current mood. Then I just stretch and at this point, I feel very exhausted so I go for a nice shower.

At home I usually do crunches + some exercises for the nicki minaj bum. You heard me.
After finding some exercises, I thought, why not? So these are the exercises I've been doing every single day:

My workout outfit consists of a regular tank top, some training leggings, comfortable underwear and trainers.

Top- H&M, leggings- Adidas, trainers- Adidas, sports bra- Sloggy
(Currently I'm wearing a sports bra from Primark though, and it does the job :))

To sum up, I really just want to become more healthy and eat less junk. Even though I find that transforming into a new lifestyle is rather hard, it's worth it.

I hope that you guys found this post somewhat inspirational. It sure did motivate me haha.

Have a lovely week!

25 facts about me TAG

Hi everyone!

As I've been SUPER busy lately and haven't really had time to try out any new beauty products, I thought I'd get a post up on here anyway. I think that you guys know little about me so I thought I would post the '25 facts about me' tag post :)

1. I have an obsession with music, I have sung in an ensemble for 8 years. I also play my guitar quite often. I sometimes also play the piano.

2. People often get the wrong impression of me: it is often assumed that I'm quiet and shy. Well, if you knew me really well, I am a crazy psychopath!

3. I often cry when I'm super happy, for example, after I'd spend an awesome weekend with my friends at a music festival, I started crying because I was so happy!

4. I love extreme sports, especially BMX biking. I would love to do it myself but I think I'm too scared.

5. I have an obsession with tea. I have at least 3 cups a day.

6. I have no clue what I want to do in the future. I kind of want to be Peter Pan and float around in youth forever!

7. I'm socially awkward. If I wanted to talk/ make friends with you, I'd most probably just sit in the corner until you came to talk to me.

8. I have 3 favourite colours: mint green, orange and baby pink.

9. I hate it when my room is messy but I don't tidy it too often, which is a bad-bad thing!!

10. I hate painting my nails.

11. My two dream destinations right now are either LA or Melbourne.

12. My biggest pet peeve is when people eat loudly/ with their mouths open.

13. When I was around 8, I rode my bike and fell. I lost a tiny piece of my front tooth, it's very tiny but still noticeable.

14. My biggest insecurity is my skin.

15. I don't have a favourite music style. I kind of listen to everything, except for classical music and hard rock.

16. I always forget where I put things. I also forget what I've told people and what not. It annoys my friends a lot!

17. My favourite holiday is Christmas.

18. When I was younger, I used to write a lot of poems and short stories.

19. Literally every time I apply mascara, I get it all over my face. It's horrible.

20. I like to take loads of photos.

21. My favourite restaurant is either Vapiano or Nandos.

22. I love driving at night, I just find the darkness very comforting. ( I mean driving in the passenger seat haha)

23. I would like to learn either Spanish or French and speak it fluently.

24. I'm obsessed with instagram (my instagram is @laura_official *just saying*...)

25. I'm 5'7 and I hate it! I often feel too tall and I'd like to be a bit shorter!

Have a lovely week!

My current hair faves

Hi everyone!

Recently I've tried out quite a few hair products because I really want to get my hair to a better condition (especially after washing it every single day for a year and a half!). For now I've stopped buying new products because I think I've found great products that are helping my hair to get healthier again.

My key to healthier hair has been coconut oil. This has been a miracle product for me. I do coconut oil masks twice a week and this really helps to make the hair ends smooth and glossy. What is more, I think it's also helped my hair grow. I have quite regular hair trims and the last time I went to the hairdresser's, she asked if I had been using any deep repair masks because she noticed the difference in the length of my hair.
So the first thing I do every week, is that I put coconut oil all over my hair and leave it there as long as possible.

Now after the oil has sat in my hair for a couple of hours, it's time for me to wash it out. For this I use my recent buy, the Toni & Guy Cleanse shampoo.
I'm lovin' it!
I feel like this shampoo really helps to get all the excess oil and chemicals out of my hair. It has a gentle smell, which is always a plus. It might not be the cheapest shampoo out there, but it definitely is worth the money.
I only use this shampoo once a week because I feel like it is kind of a 'treat' for my hair!

If I'm not having a deep treatment-masque-day, I'll just wash and condition my hair.
On days like these, I use my Aussie Miracle Moist shampoo. If you've ever tried Aussie's products, you'll know they smell heavenly. The smell reminds me of sweet bubblegum which is just lush. It also leaves my hair feeling so soft! What I also like about this shampoo as well as the Toni and Guy one, is that you need the tiniest bit for the product to lather up. So no running around stores for shampoo all the time.

When I use a shampoo, I also want to use a good conditioner. I have a couple more, but these two products are the ones I always find myself coming back to.
They're the Macadamia deep repair masque and the Aussie 3 minute miracle reconstructor.
I find that the results of these two are quite similar even though the Macadamia one is much more expensive.  They both make my hair very shiny, easy to brush through, and soft.
So one day I'll use on, then the other. I usually leave the Macadamia one for days when I feel extra posh.

So this is my current hair routine!
Do you use any of these products?

Have a nice mid-week!

Review: Maybelline Volume Express The Rocket mascara

Hi everyone!

New products always excite me. So did this mascara that Maybelline came out with at the end of last year. It  didn't hit European stores until this January so I'd heard people already raving about it I didn't get to try it yet.
In the middle of January, I managed to get mine at a Maybelline event I went to and of course, I was super excited to (finally!) try it out.

The mascara comes in a funky packaging as most of the Maybelline mascaras do

So on Maybelline website it says:

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT

Explosive Volume in Rocket Time!
8X Bigger. Smoother. Even.

Now, the most explosive, beautiful lashes ever! Volum' Express The Rocket Mascara's patented Supersonic Brush with micro bristles loads on big, sleek volume instantly.

Our fast-glide formula keeps lashes smooth.

Zero clumps!
The brush was promising and I even thought- hey, maybe it's not going to leave any clumps!
Unfortunately, it did. And that was the first disappointment of the product.
However, it did give my lashes a nice volume (of course not 8x volume, as it promises!) and really woke up my eyes. The brush was easy to use because it caught all of the inner-corner lashes and made them pop.
No mascara

With mascara
With Rimmel kohl eyeliner
I kept it on for a good 12 hour day and when I got home and looked at the mirror, I saw some of the mascara under my eyes. It had smudged. And no, it wasn't the eyeliner, because that never smudges on me.

Overall, I do find that this product is a bit over hyped. The mascara gives you quite an average length and volume so it's really not that great. Maybe it's just not my cuppa' tea...
I will give it 7 points out of 10 because it had some negative things that pulled the score down.

How do you get on with the Rocket mascara? Tell me in the comments below!

Have a nice weekend!

A weekend in Sweden

Hi everyone!
Long time, no post.
Well, I have a good explanation for that!

The last month has been very busy for me, and there are more hectic weeks to come. So me and my friend decided to take some time off and spend a relaxed and fun weekend in Stockholm. And as going to Sweden has become our yearly tradition, we both really wanted to go anyway.

Now, if you've ever been on a cruise ship, you know how crazy it is. There are shops, bars, restaurants, game room, club and even a spa on the ship so the chances of one getting bored on the ship are slim to none.
We, for example, spent the most of our time in the shops. (Especially in the beauty boutique!)

When we woke up, the first thing we saw from our window of the cabin, was the view. It feels so good to look out of the window knowing you've been there before. There are so many little islands and islets around Sweden which are all so beautiful! The view from the ship is absolutely stunning!

View from the window.
This picture is taken from our trip to Sweden last year. This time I forgot to take pictures!

At 11am we arrived at Stockholm. The weather was cloudy but we were buzzing for the city- shopping makes us very excited!
Most of the people on the ship usually go to the centre of Stockholm. So did we. We took the tube to the very centre of Stockholm, where all the good shops are. We had around 6 hours to shop.
Unfortunately, the sales were over but we still managed to get a couple of things.

From left: white lace top- H&M, white T-Shirt- H&M, dusty pink sweater- KappAhl,  Striped top- H&M, maroon  cardigan- H&M

Toni and Guy shampoo- the brand we don't have in Estonia!! - coral nail polish (in the shade 'Play it coral')  and green nail polish ( in the shade 'Moody Model')- H&M

After 5 hours, our feet were dying so we decided to take the tube back to the port.
It is always kind of sad to leave because you know you'll have to return to your routines soon.

We had such a good time on the ship and I'm sure our next trip isn't far away.
I just wanted to share my weekend with you :)

Have a good week!
